Stay Awake
Strange times. Here at Iludi we always defend affection, proximity and now, as a result of the pandemic, we isolate ourselves. It is a temporary picture and we hope it will be brief. It seems to us that dealing with this situation may be an opportunity to remember many things that were in the background.
That warm “good morning” of the porter that, for distraction, we don’t even know the name, will be missed. All the ritual to choose the perfect outfit, which would match the day’s appointments, will be missed. The damned traffic that consumes us, oddly enough, will be missed. All this because what is being limited to us are not the acts themselves, but what they symbolize: affection, attention and the right to come and go.
Our own homes will be rediscovered. Perhaps, for those who see the residence as just a resting place, this quarantine will pass more slowly. There are no memories to fill the soul with hope. There is no breath in empty shelves. Maybe this is a good time to plan for the future?
Between philosophy and practice, right now, there’s not much to be done. We will try to be more present in our virtual windows. As this is a new fact, we are still thinking about how, when and where. If you have anything to suggest, please let us know. It will be great to know how we can be of assistance at this time.
And let’s move on. May we leave this situation better than before, more human, and truly valuing the warmth of the embrace. Obviously, for the sake of everyone’s health, we embraced seclusion. But our ideals are still in motion, eager to grow wings and reach you.
See you soon,
